Thanks openclaw, Hi hermes

For the past few months, OpenClaw has been part of our work at Rootscratch. Now we’re moving to Hermes Agent, and before we do, we want to give OpenClaw a proper thank-you.

Spending a few months with a tool gives you a different perspective from trying it for an afternoon. You get past the initial curiosity and start figuring out what actually fits your day-to-day work. It also becomes easier to tell what you need from the next tool you try.

That’s the context in which we started looking at Hermes.

Why we’re moving to Hermes

After trying Hermes, we found that it suited our workflow better. That was enough reason for us to take the switch seriously.

When we choose tools for Rootscratch, the question is whether they fit the work we need to do. A long feature list can be interesting, but it doesn’t make that decision for us. Something can be a good product and still not be the one we want to keep using.

For us, Hermes is the better fit right now. This isn’t a benchmark or a recommendation that everyone using OpenClaw should move. It’s an update on the choice we’re making for our own work.

Moving on doesn’t take away from the time we spent with OpenClaw. It was part of the past few months at Rootscratch, and we appreciate the people who built and continue to maintain it.

We wanted to acknowledge that as we introduce Hermes, rather than make the announcement entirely about what’s replacing it.

So, thank you, OpenClaw. And hello, Hermes. We’ll be putting you to work.
