Define what happens from sale to shift close
A POS system must keep the cashier action, payment result, receipt, stock movement and daily totals consistent. We document sales, voids, returns, discounts and shift handover before choosing screens or hardware.
The project can cover product or barcode lookup, authorized price changes, split tenders, controlled refunds, receipts, staff roles, cash drawers and branch reporting. We test an interrupted payment, returned item, canceled sale, printer failure and a shift that does not reconcile. Offline behavior needs explicit rules for local records and later synchronization.
Bring sample receipts, product data, store roles, supported devices and the way staff close a day. Payment terminals, printers, scanners, fiscal requirements and existing inventory APIs need confirmation for the intended environment. Fiscal, invoice and reporting requirements need validation by the responsible adviser; custom POS software is not automatically a certified fiscal solution.
