Start with one job the assistant must do well
An AI assistant may search approved documents, classify a request or prepare a draft for review. Those are different products. We first define the users, representative questions, source material and the actions the assistant may take. A tool that can change a customer record needs stricter permissions and approval than a read-only knowledge assistant.
Access, evaluation and human review
The build can include retrieval from approved sources, source-linked answers where supported, permission-aware tools, usage monitoring and an escalation path. Evaluation covers unsupported questions, missing sources, prompt-injection attempts and requests outside the user's role. Private credentials stay outside model-visible prompts and browser code.
AI output can be wrong, so the release plan states what a person must review and how a user reports a bad answer. Bring sample questions, the source documents, target users and acceptable actions.
